MUMBAI: Ace producer Rahul Kumar Tewary, who has brought to life stories like Udne Ki Aasha and now Jagadhatri, shared that his new Zee TV show is about faith and family and explores the emotional journey of everyday people.
He believes that Jagadhatri is a simple yet relatable story, and the titular character represents a wider audience through her values and inner conflicts. He further shared, "I want every girl to feel that she can achieve anything. You just have to be focused and disciplined towards your goal and not worry about what others think. This is a show about strength, vulnerability, and the small yet important choices that shape a person’s journey."
Rahul even went on to share his early memories of television and mentioned that it brought families together. He said, "When I was a kid, my earliest memory of watching television was sitting with my family in the living room after dinner. We would wait for our favourite show to start. It wasn’t just about watching something—it was about sharing time and emotions with the people you love."
He feels the audience today has become smart and wants fresh content. "Television today demands deeper engagement. The audience is sharp, emotional, and connected. We wanted to build a story that feels familiar yet fresh," he said.
With Jagadhatri, he wanted to bring the same love and togetherness to every home. He said, "Back then, we had only a few shows—Ramayana on Doordarshan was an event. Over time, television grew, stories changed, but the relationship between the audience and their favourite characters has stayed strong."
"If even a little bit of that togetherness returns to living rooms, I’ll feel the show has worked," Rahul concluded.
