Indian Telly Technical Awards: Meet writer Manoj Santoshi, the man behind the success of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain

MUMBAI: In the world of online and email communication, writing powerful copies is rare. Writing doesn’t just mean communicating idea; it’s about generating them. Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain is one of the most successful serials on screen. Typically, actors of the show get the credit, but people forget the hard work others who make a show successful.

It takes a group of people who work behind the lens to make a show a super hit: assistant directors, spot boys, cameramen, and writers. A writer is the backbone of a serial, as he is responsible for the story.

The serial’s success depends on the storyline and screenplay. If the story is not in place, the serial can just fall flat and audiences simply won’t connect to it.

Ace writer Manoj Santoshi, who pens down the hilarious episodes of &TV’s popular comedy series Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, says that writing is the base of the serial and that if the writing is good, then it will definitely connect with the audiences. He also states that with a good storyline and a powerful screenplay, a serial can be super successful. That’s one of the main reasons Bhabiji is doing exceptionally well as a serial even four years since its launch.

He added that he has been writing for the serial since four years and it's a challenge to write for a comedy show. Once you are familiar with the characters, writing becomes a little easy, as the writer understands what will work for the show.

To honour such talented crew, IndianTelevision.com introduces the 15th edition of our annual Indian Telly Technical Trade and Programming Awards, which recognize the best in television production, editing, writing, direction, distribution, and creation.
