Ishita Sharma, who plays Anji in Sony Entertainment Television’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (Director's Kut), is a class apart. For this cute girl, unlike the current lot of small screen actors who quit studies to chase the arc lights, is refusing offers to play lead characters on daily shows “for that will not leave time for studies”. “After shooting for long hours you would want to drink coffee with a friend or do other things rather than hit the books.” However, Ishita who is pursuing a full-time Masters degree in Development Studies does not think that she is more cerebral than other TV stars .“I don’t think knowledge is bookish you should be educated about the world around. Also I feel that these actors who have quit studies always wanted to be in this line, which is tough in its own way.” Since, Ishita carries Bachelors Degree in Psychology and hopes to do more applied psycho courses post her Masters we asked her to explain the rationale behind the show’s lead character Nidhi(Kritika Kamra) falling in love with a older man? “Well you don’t need psychology to explain love.” Moving on, she helps her unit members and co- stars in friendly capacity to solve their problems. But she feels, “I don’t think I am fully qualified and plus the issues related to the industry are much complex which I will be able to handle only later with years of experience.” Ishita, who has also done films (Dil Dosti Etc, Dulha Mil Gaya and Pyaar Ka Punchnama etc) says, “She is unable to understand the lower ratings of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. Wherever I go people say that they love our show. All the girls in my class, who are topper of their respective universities, also love the concept of mature love story.” Regarding the future track in the show she shares that Dr Rangnath (Vishal Malhotra) and she will definitely get married but “she cannot divulge any further”. Ishita…you are a perfect example of beauty with brains!!!
