A page from the personal diary of Annie Gill Hello everyone, I am Annie Gill whom you know as Rano from Sony Entertainment Television’s Anamika. Born and raised in Punjab where my parents stay, I completed my schooling and later did first year in medical from the state itself. I left my studies as I wanted to chase my dream of becoming an actor. I am currently staying in Mumbai. Initially, my parents were not allowing me to pursue my dreams, especially my dad who was very skeptical about me getting into acting. I still remember him telling me “You are the one who will make it and you are the one who will break it.” But finally, after a lot of pleading, I could convince my parents after which they allowed me to come to Mumbai. After coming here, to start with, I worked with Jet Airways for eight months. Simultaneously, I was also giving auditions. Finally, after lot many auditions, I got a call from Trisula Production House. So, accordingly I went there the next day and gave my audition. The very next day, I got a call informing that I was selected for the main lead role. They thought I will fit into the role of Rano very well. And, that’s how I got my first show Anamika. There was a time when I gave up all hope completely and thought of going back to Punjab but to my surprise, dad told me to give more two months time to myself and not just give up and come back. And now, I am very happy to be part of this show. Every day is a learning experience for me. It is a great feeling when people ask for your autograph and appreciate your work. On the personal front, I love going to the gym. I like to spend time with my friends and I think I am blessed with very good friends in my life. I also like to travel. Till now, I have been to too many countries. But one country that I am dying to go is, Greece with my partner. Yes, with my partner who is yet to be found?
