Jyotsna Chandola to have sangeet and post marriage party in Mumbai; wedding to take place in Banaras

Jyotsna Chandola
Post the Roka ceremony Jyotsna Chandola is looking forward to a sangeet ceremony in Mumbai, followed by a grand wedding in Banaras and a post marriage party back in Mumbai. The Sasural Simar Ka fame actress dated her boyfriend then and fiancée now, Nitesh Singh – Director of Haunted Nights – for good one year before they took the next step, the roka ceremony. But, according to the artist it was always meant to be so, “I’ve known Nitesh for three years now but I started dating him a year ago and he had proposed me for marriage on day one. I had a liking for him hence; I took his proposal to my parents who accepted it.” Since, the love birds have decided on tying the knot sometime in April or May next year their parents thought of bringing in the Roka ceremony on 30 October 2014. Jyotsna flew down to Banaras – Nitesh’s hometown – for the ceremony however, the function took place at Jyotsna’s aunt’s place in the presence of their families. Interestingly, the actress who plays a vamp in the above mentioned daily soap did not let her pallu (veil) fall off her head during the ceremony. “Nitesh’s family had seen me as Khushi (her character in Sasural) before and they felt I’d be cunning like her. In fact, they asked Nitesh to rethink before coming to our house for the roka. Nitesh laughed it out and asked them to see me once and that changed a lot for them. I kept the pallu on my head throughout. In fact, I did not even talk to anyone during the ceremony. It was only when his family took me out for dinner that the ice was broke,” said an ecstatic Jyotsna. Do they like you now? “They love me now. In fact Nitesh’s niece who is in sixth standard too loves me. It’s his mother’s birthday today hence; I sent her a surprise cake and bouquet. She loved it.” The ceremony did not go as easily as Jyotsna and Nitesh expected it to be with her neighbours jumping in every 15 to 20 minutes to get a picture clicked with her. “I was there just for a day so, they kept coming in which was very distracting with me trying to balance things. But, then it all went well at the end of the day.” What about the wedding? “I’ll start shopping now (laughs). On a serious note we have plans of a sangeet in Mumbai, wedding in Banaras and a post marriage party in Mumbai,” she ends with a smile.
