On 26 July Balalji telefilms lost a piece of its own history.
Images of jwellery laden Parvati in her heavily embroidered lehenga, will keep reminding the team of what they have lost forever. Perhaps the most nostalgic would be Nim Sood, who has designed them.
"We have lost all the costume and the jwellery that we had used for the shoot in Jodhpur and it's a pity. You know I won't be able to use them again. They were really special," says Nim, who has been the resident designer for Balaji shows.

The costumes were all stored in Sankraman studios and the petis containing the costumes floated away into the nearby gutter and thus could not be salvaged. Reportedly, Balaji house lost close to Rs 3 million worth of clothing due to the rains. Although our sources tell us that they were insured, the loss seems more of sentimental value.
"Yes, it is sad. But I think that it is by od's grace that none of the cast or the crew members was hurt. There are some things that cannot be foreseen. This is just one of those situations," sighs Nim, who herself was ready for an emergency like this. "I have clothes that I can provide to all my cast. I have no problems coping; it's just that I am very busy nowadays. But I have been doing this for such a long time that it comes easy to me!" laughs Nim.
