"We would like to refute all these rumours and put to rest all speculation about KBC 2. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan will continue as the anchor of KBC 2 and we will wait for him to recover completely after which we will shoot fresh episodes," says a press release that was sent out to media houses on 8 December on behalf of Star India.
This was perhaps an expected clarification on Star's part, as both the viewers and the media have been speculating about the future of KBC 2 since AB's ailment. Speculations were rife that AB junior would take his dad's place and this is one rumour that Star strongly denies.
Moreover, such speculations are undoubtedly not based on strong logic! How can a guy who has so many film assignments in hand take on a television project???? But something that cannot be denied is the fact that Abhishekh might take time out to shoot some special episodes on behalf of his dad. But this is something that is entirely Star's call, until then Star has a bouquet of specials plannned for its viewers.
" Our foremost concern is Mr. Bachchan's health. We wish him a speedy recovery," says COO, Star India, Sameer Nair.
On 24 December, Star Plus will telecast the best of KBC 2, that will comprise of special moments with contestants and on 31 of this month, there will be an episode of special moments with celebs.
As reported earlier by Indiantelevision.com, KBC 2 will now be aired Fridays and Saturdays and on Sundays it will be replaced by Sai Baba.
