MUMBAI: On October 15, 2025, the nation was left heartbroken by the news of veteran actor Pankaj Dheer’s passing. Fans and celebrities across the country took to social media to pay heartfelt tributes to the beloved star.
The late actor’s last rites were attended by several well-known personalities, including Salman Khan, Kushal Tandon, Mukesh Rishi, Mika Singh, and Sidharth Malhotra, who came to pay their final respects.

Nearly two weeks later, Dheer’s daughter-in-law, actress Kratika Sengar, penned an emotional note on social media, expressing her deep love for her father-in-law and how much she misses him.
She wrote, "You never liked the word in-laws — you’d always say, “She’s my daughter,” and that’s exactly how you treated me. You’d often ask with that familiar twinkle in your eyes, “Who’s the best girl in the world?” and I’d smile and say, “Mee!” I was always shy to say I love you dad, but you never stopped until I said it with ease — that was your way of wrapping me in love. You weren’t just my father-in-law; you were my Dad, my friend, my safe place. We’d talk for hours about everything and nothing, and now the silence feels so heavy without you."

Interestingly, Pankaj was the one who was keen on getting Kratika Sengar married to her son Nikitin Dheer. He was so impressed by Sengar that he approached her and later her parents. That's how Nikitin and Kratika got married.
