KOLKATA: Kunal Banerjee, who was earlier seen in Colors Bangla’s Kajalata and Aakash Aath’s Pandemonium, is happy to work in two serials simultaneously for the first time in his acting career.
The Bengali TV actor is currently a part of two shows including Star Jalsha’s Irabotir Chupkotha and Colors Bangla’s Manasha.
When asked how it feels to be a part of two projects at the same time, Kunal said to TellyChakkar, ‘For the first time, I am playing two different characters in two different serials—Lord Biswakarma in the mythological show Manasha and Saptarshi in drawing-room drama Irabotir Chupkotha. This is a different experience for me. Earlier, I had played lead or parallel lead, so my contract did not allow me to be a part of more than one project at a time. In the future, I wish to be a part of three shows at a time. I don’t know if it will happen. Let’s hope for the best.’
Kunal recently entered Irabotir Chupkotha. On why he decided to say yes to the show, the actor said, “I am doing Manasha for quite a long time, and I am enjoying my role here. But I was also looking for a drawing room drama. Mega shows have three categories namely mythology, period drama, and drawing-room drama. Everyone wants to do a drawing-room drama because it lets you experiment with your characters. So, I too was looking for a drawing-room drama, I wanted to present myself in a different way.’
‘Then I got a call from Payel di, executive producer of Acropolis, and got the offer of playing the important role of Saptarshi in Irabotir Chupkotha. The character has just entered the show. Slowly it will establish and add drama to the storyline. Saptarshi is well-educated and hails from a rich family. I am thankful to Acropolis and Star Jalsha for giving me this opportunity,’ he added.
