Man Manam Maarada Madurai’ hits a century this month. A story about five siblings portrays a long-drawn family feud scattered across the town of Madurai and the winds of change that take place due to a love story blooming within the same family. With the Madurai city as the backdrop, the serial captures the people, their culture, taste, traditions, customs and their emotions. The second generation of this family grows up without knowing that they have come from a family that was once happy together. Launched last July, the serial now reaches its 100th day on February 04, 2008. The central characters of the story are Meenakshi (played by Srija) and Saravananan (played by Senthil). Meenakshi on one side is desperate to re-unite the family; and on the other side, Saravanan, popularly known, as ‘Seigai Saravanan’ is ready to sacrifice everything to win the love of Meenakshi. Other characters like Anbu (played by Udaya), Nila (played by Gayathri) and the older generation, Veerapandi (played by Mu.Ra), Kamatchi (played by Vadivukarasi) put an end to all tear jerker soaps. “The victory of the serial is the plot and the story line,” comments the Director, Gerald. The character ‘Seigai Saravanan’ has a huge fan club for his slang and mannerism. The story is fast paced and with Saravanan on his death bed, will his life be saved, will he survive to witness Meenakshi’s love? Will the family members come together? With all these questions and with more twists and turns in the story, let’s wait and watch the show. It is produced by Touring Talkies and directed by Gerald, Monday- Thursday, 8:30 pm on Vijay TV.
