Mangal Kenkre, Anshul Trivedi and Sudhir Nema in Shakuntalam Telefilms' Nyay for Star Plus

Of late, shows based on real life crime stories have emerged as a trend. Channels across are exploiting this genre to rake in TRPs. Shows like Crime Patrol (Sony Entertainment Television), Savdhan India Crime @ 11 (Life OK), and Gumrah-End of Innocence (Channel V and Star Plus) have really climbed up in the popularity ladder. And going by the popular wave, Shakuntalam Telefilms has also decided to jump into the fray with Nyay…a crime based show that would air on Star Plus. Yes, reports about this project have already flashed in the media and we are here to disseminate some more information. As per a reliable source, Nyay is based on the Nitish Katara murder case that took place in February 2002. The show will be a journey of a mother who tries to get justice for her son. The story will run for just eight to nine months unlike most of our daily soaps. While the role of the mother will be played by well-known actress Mangal Kenkre, Anshul Trivedi, who was last seen in Life OK’s Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, will play her son. Sudhir Nema, on the other hand, will play the villain. The shooting for Nyay will begin in a week or two and it will go on-air by October-November (2012).
