MUMBAI: Actor Manmohan Tiwari, currently seen in Gehna: Zevar Ya Zanjeer and Mishri, believes that people need to balance their work and personal lives and take breaks from social media whenever necessary. He emphasizes that he regularly makes time for the activities he loves.
“In today's world, people often don't get ‘me time’ because Facebook and Instagram take it away. You end up getting caught up in unnecessary things. I wouldn’t even say they’re entirely unnecessary because there are practical benefits, but you still end up wasting time on them. So, it has become very difficult to find ‘me time.’ For me, ‘me time’ includes jogging, walking, studying, and writing. I try to make time for these activities once or twice a week. When I do, I feel like I’ve done something productive for myself. But I agree, it’s very difficult,” he says.
When asked how he unwinds, he shares, “All my tiredness disappears as soon as I see my daughter when I get home. She stays awake for me, whether it’s night or day. Even if I come home late, even at one o’clock in the morning, she stays awake, and in that moment, all my tiredness vanishes. My daughter plays an integral role in my daily life; her presence is something I absolutely need.”
He elaborates, "When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I need is tea. It's almost as if my day depends on it. If I don't get my tea, everything feels out of balance, and my whole day is thrown off. Even when I'm not at home, I make it a point to find tea wherever I am because it’s that important to me. As for hobbies, I enjoy writing and reading during my free time.”
The actor also mentions that he is very organized when it comes to his schedule and self-care. “As far as my eating schedule is concerned, I’m very organized. When I go for shoots, I don’t eat the food provided on set. My wife prepares my meals and gives them to me in the morning. I’m very particular about my food. My eating habits are well-managed, and I always find time for meals. I’m a fast eater; I finish eating in 10 minutes, though I know that even 10 minutes is a lot. Ideally, eating should be slower, but I’ve got it sorted, so there’s no tension. I manage to find time for meals no matter what. For me, food is a high priority. I heard in an interview with Shah Rukh Khan that he doesn’t pay much attention to food or consider it important.”
He adds, “I’m a foodie, and I’m a vegetarian. Everything is important to me, whether it’s Rajma Chawal, Chole Chawal, or Mushrooms—I love them all. So, that’s a daily topic of discussion. It’s also very important to give your body an hour daily—sweat it out so you don’t fall ill, and eat well. Eating pure, fresh food is essential for the body.” I am because it’s that important to me. As for hobbies, he says, “I enjoy writing. I like to read and write during my free time.”
