Meeting Ekta Kapoor was the turning point of my life - Nidhi Uttam

After doing interesting roles in Kasturi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay on Star Plus, Nidhi Uttam shot to fame as Nandini in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus. She is now currently seen as Meethi in Ek Boond Ishq on Life OK, along with being an integral part of Rajan Shahi’s long-running show Yeh Rishta. Talking about her inclination towards acting, the talented female excitedly spilled the beans as she averred, “Ekta Kapoor was the turning point of my life.” Well, it’s a fact that Ekta Kapoor has been instrumental in shaping the careers of a plethora of actors. Let’s hear Nidhi’s version on the same. “I had come to Mumbai to pursue my course in animation and while I was studying I played a cameo for Maayka - Saath Zindagi Bhar Ka (Zee TV). That’s when Ekta Kapoor spotted me and I was offered the lead in Kasturi (Star Plus). Post that I have done a lot of shows, but Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is extremely close to me as my fame has simply gone up playing Nandini.” Commenting on the experimental roles she would like doing, the beauty answered, “I would love to do experimental roles but I feel romantic drama is my forte. I have tried to pull off grey shaded roles too, but I have been told that I have an innocent face which does not work in the character’s favour, if negative.” Having played the handicapped Nandini for quite some time now, Nidhi says that she has few memorable fan incidents where all are so worried about her leg. She laughed saying, “There was a time when I used to get up in the morning wondering where my crutches are. Also, it has been 4-5 months now with the Ek Boond Ishq team and Meethi is gaining equal popularity.” Nidhi, may the sky be the limit for you!!
