After <em> Salaam Mumbai, Salaam Pune </em> and <em> Salaam Nasik</em>, Mi Marathi has now taken the event to Kolhapur with <em> Salaam Kolhapur </em> on Thursday 3rd April 2008.
The theme of the event <em> Salaam Kolhapur</em> is the city of Kolhapur and the life style of the people. However the main focus would be the history, the heritage of Kolhapur and the love of the people for their city.

After Salaam Mumbai, Salaam Pune and Salaam Nasik, Mi Marathi has now taken the event to Kolhapur with Salaam Kolhapur on Thursday 3rd April 2008.
The theme of the event Salaam Kolhapur is the city of Kolhapur and the life style of the people. However the main focus would be the history, the heritage of Kolhapur and the love of the people for their city.
The event will open with Devicha Gondhal, followed by a variety entertainment programme woven loosely around a story line. Each of the incidences in the story line would highlight a unique aspect of Kolhapur. It will also portray the life in Kolhapur as well as the people of Kolhapur. A medley of dances based on famous Marathi film songs in reference to Kolhapur would also go alongside dances based on Kannada, Telegu songs as it is an inherent part of Kolhapuri culture.
A five-minute montage on the city of Kolhapur depicting the significant achievements and contributions by the prominent personalities of Kolhapur will also be shown. Among those who would be felicitated at the event would be Mahapor - the Mayor of Kolhapur, Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur, a Kolhapuri chappal maker, a local farmer, Misal - Raja Bhau, a pujari of Kolhapur - Mahalaxmi Temple, Solanki Ice cream and a pehelwan (Wrestler).
The program will end with a theme song on Kolhapur to be written by the veteran Kolhapur lyricist and son of Kolhapur, Shri Jagdish Khebudkar and the famous music director Shri Ashok Patki.
The event will be telecast on Mi Marathi on 12th April at 7.30pm.
