New Talent Awards came as a breath of fresh air

Today, I got a call whereby I was invited for the New Talent Awards. The very mention of New Talent Awards resulted in a sense of nostalgia. Today, I got a call whereby I was invited for the New Talent Awards. The very mention of New Talent Awards resulted in a sense of nostalgia. After all, in its inaugural year (2008) I received the New Talent Award for the best actor. These awards are back again and though I can’t be nominated this time, but I’m still very looking forward to being there. For actors like me who made their debut last year to have received such recognition is indeed very encouraging. It’s a great initiative taken by Tellychakkar. Often what happens at most awards is that few new actors make the cut. Thus New Talent Awards came as a breath of fresh air. Such an award will only encourage more youngsters to take to this field. Coming back to myself, I was overwhelmed to have received the best actor’s award. Honestly, it took me by surprise because you don’t expect such recognition at the start of your career. Besides, I was thrilled that the judges and the public chose me over my equally famed colleagues. It made me more confident of myself as an actor. This award signifies that you’re being watched by the viewers. The personal triumph kept apart, I really liked what was put on display. The performances and the acts were good, though a few of them could have been better. However, this is no cynicism as I only want the New Talent Awards to grow with every year. We were made to feel very comfortable. Finally, talking of the current lot among new talent, I honestly feel that this girl who plays Anandi in Balika Vadhu is really brilliant. She should be the front runner to bag top honours. Unfortunately, we actors don’t get to watch much of TV thus I really can’t think of more names. But I’m sure there’s plenty of talent who has captured the imagination of the viewer. I’d like to wish the very best to all those who get nominated
