Our intention was not to hurt anyone: Bharti Singh

Bubbly and sweet comedy artist Bharti Singh said that she never intended to hurt anyone through her act. What are we talking about? Well, in a recent episode of her show Comedy Classes (Optimystix Entertainment) on Life OK, Bharti along with her co stars, Krushna Abhishek and Sudesh Lehri performed an act, where they imitated veteran singers like Lata Mangeshkar (Krushna Abhishek) and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Bharti Singh). This act did not go down well with a certain section of the audiences. Talking about that act, Bharti said, “We as comedians have always wanted to bring laughter and joy to others. We never intend to hurt anyone’s emotion or sentiments. It was just an act, which we wanted to do in a lighter vein”. “I can understand that our act might have offended few people, but honestly speaking that was not our intention. If we have unintentionally hurt someone then I ask for their forgiveness”, added the ever-smiling lady. Bharti further went on, “There are instances when I have imitated Archana Puran Singh and Madhuri Dixit in front of them only, and they enjoyed our performances. We just wanted to bring a smile on our audiences face through our performances. Some of the audiences even liked it as they believe that with all the makeup I simply looked like the veteran maestro”. We understand your position Bharti and hope everyone takes it in a lighter vein.
