Pallavi Chatterjee shares her 'gastronomic' secrets

Pallavi Chatterjee

The pretty Pallavi Chatterjee, who appeared in films like Dosar and Khad, loves to prepare oil-free food and believes that anything can be cooked without oil.

“I can prepare many dishes, but I specialise in oil-free food. Anything can be cooked without oil. I love preparing dishes like doi maachdoi chicken...anything that can be grilled and marinated. These dishes are healthy, tasty and don’t take too much time to cook,” she said to Tellychakkar.com at the recently organised ‘The Great Awadhi Kabab Festival’ at Oudh 1590.

Talking about her favourite dishes, she quipped, “I am fond of Chinese dishes. I also relish dal makhani with roti.”

When asked to share the first dish she learnt to prepare, she added, “I don’t remember vividly as I started cooking at the age of eight, but I think it was alu bhaja.”

Speaking about the food she loves to gorge on when she is upset, she laughed and said, “I eat alu sheddo bhaat. It instantly uplifts my mood.”

Pallavi is a vegetarian so we wanted to know if there was any reason behind it… “It was my own decision. Nobody can force me to become a vegetarian. I am leading the life of a vegetarian for the past six years. So, it was a conscious decision,” she said.

The lady is superb at baking so we asked about her Christmas plans.

“I am not a person who bakes only on Christmas. I bake throughout the year and Christmas is definitely special. Apart from baking cake on Christmas, I also prepare grilled chicken, stuffed chicken, grilled fish and baked fish for my friends,” she added with a smile.

Yummilicious Pallavi!
