Peace prevails in Tollyland; committee formed to resolve discrepancies

It seems slowly but surely everything is going to be fine in the Bengali TV industry.

As per media reports, a meeting to solve the issue of technicians of Kolkata was held on Wednesday in the presence of film federation, producers and ministers Arup Biswas and Indranil Sen. It was held at the Suruchi Sangha club.

The committee, comprising representatives of the three parties, was formed by Arup Biswas that heard out the discrepancies. The committee will work under the leadership of the federation, producer and minister Indranil Sen.

It has also been reported that within a month the team will get together to discuss the developments and get back with more solutions.

When Tellychakkar.com contacted Aparna Ghatak, General Secretary (Federation of Cine & Workers of Eastern India), to know about her statement on the meeting, she refused to share details but assured that the meeting was a positive one.

“We do not want to give any quote at the moment. Until and unless it gets a complete solution, we are unable to say anything. It is still in the process. We had a fruitful discussion and we are hopeful that the matter will be solved soon,” she said.

A few days back the shooting of some of Bengali TV soaps were called off as technicians were not getting paid for working overtime. For full report read here: No shoot in Tollyland; technicians demand dues clearances
