The talented Rajeshwari Sachdev is back after a soap- sabbatical. She will soon be seen in Ek Shaadi Aisi Bhi, a new serial on Sony. The last she was seen in a soap was six years ago in a cameo role in Kahaani Ghar Ghar ki.
A source from the production house informed, “Rajeshwari is playing Channi Chaachi in Ek Shaadi Aisi Bhi. Her character has grey shades. The show was earlier titled Mai Bihayi Kirpaan Ki. As reported in the earlier story, this show was slated to go on air from the first week of October but now the launch has been put off for a few weeks.”
Being busy with films Rajeshwari had kept away from TV soaps. She was a part of the recently released film Welcome to Sajjanpur. Some time back Rajeswhari hosted a reality show K for Kishore on Sony. But she is more remembered for her flawless dancing in Nach Baliye.
We asked Rajeshwari why she stayed away from TV soaps and she said, “I don’t stay away from anything. It is just that I go close to good work. I only take up work that excites me.”
Ek Shaadi Aisi Bhi is produced by husband and wife duo Alka and Ravi Kaushal who happen to be Rajeshwari’s sister-in-law and brother-in-law. She says, “The show is from my home production and it is awesome working in this show.” Talking about her character in the show, she says, “My character has grey shades. It doesn’t mean that I am playing a regressive character. Everyone in this world has grey shades to their character. People are different in different situations in life. In reality, no one is completely positive or negative.”
Alka Kaushal said, “I requested Rajeshwari to be a part of this show and she was gracious to agree. It is great to have her on our show.”
