The world is still raving about MTV Roadies which is currently in its ninth season. Viewers love watching it and youngsters want to be a roadie. But for that, they have to go a grilling session with twin brothers Raghu Ram and Rajiv Laxman to embark their Roadies’ expedition. “Roadies is a very different world altogether, it's a journey. Unlike, a daily soap which is scripted, here the script is changing from time to time it's a journey that we create and share,” says Rajiv to Tellychakkar.com. He is very happy with the show so far, “Every year there is something new to offer, when we go for outdoor locations we imbibe the culture, the tradition, mix and gel with the people there. The theme is different each year.” The audiences see him doing different things onscreen. He shouts, jokes around and questions the contestants. Is he like that in real life too? “People have diverse images of me in their minds. I won’t say I am exactly the same as I am onscreen but there’s more to me than that. I am an ambivert. At times, I am angry and at times funny, it all depends on the person sitting in front of me.” He further clarifies: “I am not against youngsters participating or getting aggressive, as even I was a passionate youth. I think youth is the future of the country. We are not underestimating them at all and do not want them to stop dreaming. I am no one to stop them.” The reality series has often being claimed to be a shortcut to fame. “If a contestant feels Roadies is a stepping stone for them then I have no issues,” he adds. He is happy with the way industry has accepted him: “Media is one such industry which welcomes visionaries with open arms.” His key area of interest lies in direction. Apart from that, he is on the verge of writing scripts for movies; we shall see him directing a movie soon. On the personal front, he is happily married for a decade now and has a six year old son.
