Ruchita Jadhav, better known as Shivaji’s wife Soyarabai from Colors’ Veer Shivaji, is pretty annoyed these days. Reason? Her show is all set to go off air. Ruchita entered the world of Hindi television with this historical saga after featuring in four Marathi shows. She had a lot of expectations from this Contiloe (Productions) venture, but all her dreams came crashing down with the news of Veer Shivaji coming to an end. “We knew that the TRPs were going down so we started working really hard. However, then came the news of the show being taken off air. In fact, I came to know about it a lot later. Producer Abhimanyu (Singh) came on the sets and announced it. I was left shocked as I did not opt for other big projects due to Shivaji,” shares the actress. She further adds, “This was my first Hindi show, so I am a bit disappointed. But the distress is that I let go other good offers. I did not say yes to Raaz 3, the movie.” Furthermore, she also regrets the fact that she put in so much futile effort to portray Soyarabai. “I so wanted to live the journey of Soyarabai who was chirpy initially, then a mature wife and lastly a negative lady who wanted Shivaji’s kingdom. In fact, the creatives had told me that my character would be turning negative soon but now with the show going off air, that’s definitely not happening and hence, there is this regret. I think I should not have stuck to my commitment rather I should have moved on when I had got a better opportunity.” Though Ruchita is all depressed and taken aback by this sudden decision of the channel, she plans to continue doing shows on Hindi GECs, “I’d love to do more Hindi projects,” she ends.
