SABway! It isn't like your American fast food chain but SAB TV is adamant on satiating your humour appetite with the launch of its daily comedy show 'SAB ka Bheja Fry, which will commence from 13th August at 10 pm. The principal cooks include the likes of Suresh Menon, Kiku Sharda, Sonia Rakkar and Kunal Kumar. Elaborating on the show producer Abhimanyu Singh said, "SAB ka Bheja Fry is an innovative show. Each episode comprises of three different sitcoms of four minutes each. Each sitcom will be followed by a two minute gag by our innovative characters." Unlike the channel's policy, Abhimanyu isn't just looking to appease the youth but he believes that comedy cuts through all ages. Enunciating on why he took up this show, Suresh Menon said, "I was in Sydney when I got a call from SAB TV and they briefed me about my characters Muft ka Chandan and Janab. I was tired of doing Great Indian Comedy Show and other shows, where I was merely spoofing celebrities. I've never played such original characters before and the best part is that there is no spoofing, and I'm sure people like Amitabh Bachchan will be pleased to hear this. Muft ka Chandan is a miser while Janab is a cop who conducts his job in his own inimitable way. Apparently, Suresh Menon is also acting in Star One's Ranvir, Vinay aur kaun?.The two shows will be competing against each other at prime time. "I've just found that the two shows will air at the same time but I'm a labourer and I have to work. The viewers will decide what they want to watch" says a diplomatic Suresh. Sonia Rakkar, who plays Laila Majnu, had this to say, "My character is of a pretty Punjabi girl but her husky voice drives all men away" We quizzed her over the peculiar title of the show, the bubbly actress replied, "Well, we thought hard but couldn't think of anything sensible. So, we settled for this. After watching few episodes, the viewers certainly will have their bhejas (brains) fried up." Laughs! Kiku Sharda enacts the roles of Tension Tambi, KK and Ustad (cop). The stocky actor says that in real life he is not as tensed as Tension Tambi. Like his buddy Suresh, Kiku too refused to be drawn into the fact that this show will compete with his gags in Ranvir, Vinay aur kaun, but he did state that show is different in nature and format. "Since it's an offbeat show, I feel more responsible to perform better for it to succeed." quips Kiku. Be it SAB ka Bheja Fry, Ranvir, Vinay aur Kaun or any show, the viewers have always enjoyed the theatrics of these men and women too. The only worrying factor is that for long we've allowed these comics to amuse us. Now, can we allow them to fry our bhejas?
