What are the challenges you are facing in playing this character?
The series has been written so well that I didn't face any significant challenges. Usually, difficulties arise when you're unsure of your direction or uncertain about how to develop your character. However, in this case, the writing is outstanding, which made the process much smoother and free of difficulties.
The OTT platform is expanding on a large scale in the future. Are you open to OTT projects and do you have reservations about what type of character you will play considering the characters on OTT are bold?
OTT platforms have been a game changer, especially during the COVID era. Personally, I've become a huge fan of several shows that I’ve watched as an ardent viewer.
However, when it comes to being an actor and participating in OTT projects, my experience has been a bit different. I was fortunate to have friends in the industry who offered me roles in a couple of shows, and I’m grateful for that.
However, I encountered some challenges, particularly with the boldness often required by OTT content. While it's a trend that has been prevalent, I’ve noticed a shift over the past year.
Many people, like me, aren't comfortable with portraying bold characters or performing certain bold actions, even if the character itself isn’t inherently bold. Because of this, I had to decline the roles my friends offered me.
That said, I’m aware that this aspect of OTT content is evolving. If a role comes along that doesn’t require me to step outside of my comfort zone in that way, I’d definitely be open to exploring opportunities in the OTT space. So, perhaps shortly, you'll see me in an OTT project that aligns with my values and preferences.
Well, the fans are super excited to see Shilpa in a new avatar on the show.
