Shivam Patil chats about dance, acting and more...

Shivam Patil
The good looking and talented Shivam Patil presented his dancing skills recently in an episode of Bindass’ Yeh Hai Aashiqui (BBC). Not many know that the actor is a trained hip hop dancer and has won many laurels before venturing into acting. “This was a great experience for me as I got to learn a new dance form. I have never really tried Latin dance form and with a co-star and instructor like Vallery (Lokre) I was all excited to be a part of the show. Also the format and the concept of the series is something that interests me and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience,” shared Shivam about his participation in the above mentioned show. When asked why he is seen only in episodic based shows, Shivam said, “I am happy doing it for I would not like to tie myself with a time commitment. The content of these shows also resonates the thinking of the metro youth like us. These shows actually help improve the thinking and help them grow as individuals.” The actor, who made his movie debut in Nasha, also spoke how the film made people realise his potential. “The film helped in a way as I was till then someone unknown to the industry people. Being an outsider I have no support and work is the only way to pave my way up. The offers that I get now are solely on the basis of my performance in the film. It feels great to be appreciated for all the hard work that way.” Having done an episode based on dance, does he aspire to do a show or film where he can showcase his dancing talent? “A chance where I can display both acting and dance would be a great venture. So apart from good dancing, there should be good stories too. The industry is opening to shows and movies based on dance and slowly I am sure it will improve further,” concluded Shivam. Way to go young boy!!!
