MUMBAI: Sony SAB is all set to launch Ganesh Kartikey which is a grand epic that chronicles the extraordinary journey of the most powerful family of Gods. Showcasing the untold story of Lord Shiva (Mohit Malik) and Goddess Parvati’s (Shrenu Parikh) sons, the show explores how they shape cosmic order while navigating the profound bonds, challenges, and triumphs of their celestial household. With its mix of wisdom, brotherhood, and family emotions, the show mirrors the dynamics of every home, making the divine tale relatable and deeply human.
For Shrenu Parikh, stepping into the role of Goddess Parvati was about more than just embodying grace, it was about bringing an unfiltered, fresh perspective to a character audiences have always revered. Instead of referring to existing videos portrayals of Goddess Parvati, she focused on reading extensively on the subject to understand the emotional depth and the bonds within the Shiv Parivar.
Speaking about her preparation and process of approaching such a powerful divine role, Shrenu shared, “One of the first things I asked our director and creators was whether I should watch any references to prepare for the role of Goddess Parvati. They were very sure I shouldn’t, they wanted me to bring freshness and originality to the role. So, I stayed away from visual references and instead immersed myself in reading Shiv–Parvati based stories. We also did many workshops, which really helped me shape my approach. Reading about the Shiv Parivar gave me a deeper understanding of the family dynamics of the gods, and that has been invaluable in portraying Parvati authentically.”
With this immersive process, Shrenu brings a portrayal of Parvati that is both rooted in tradition and refreshingly original — a divine mother, wife, and goddess whose emotions feel real and relatable.
