MUMBAI: On October 2nd, we celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, a day dedicated to honoring Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of India’s independence movement. Known for his principles of non-violence and simplicity, Gandhi inspired many with his teachings. Actor Siddhant Issar who is playing the role of Maalik in the Star Bharat’s show ‘Shaitani Rasmein’ shared his thoughts on this 155th birth Anniversary.
Siddhant Issar Says "Mahatma Gandhi was ahead of his time. I believe he was a pioneer of minimalistic living and the use of organic products, which are so popular today. We now enjoy fancy eco-friendly resorts, but Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram embodied that spirit with its simple, rustic furniture. He believed in Khadi, and today, everyone is excited about organic clothing. Gandhi ji promoted environmental protection long before it became famous in the West."
He added, “Social media and the power it gives to ordinary people is a blessing from Gandhi. Today, social media empowers youth and everyone to stand up against oppressors and express their opinions to pressure the system. It’s hard to imagine our world without social media. Gandhi did something similar nearly a century ago and helped us win independence—he truly was a remarkable man."
