Siddharth Arora impressed all and sundry with his performance as Vaibhav Virani in Colors’ Mukti Bandhan. He looked stunning when he came to our office as a guest editor wearing a cool blue shirt. We have already written that he is quite kicked about his upcoming flick, Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai, which also stars Sanjay Dutt's niece Nazia Hasan. Though he is not allowed to talk much about the project but he shares, “It is a love story. I have a meaty role with a grey shade. This is all I can say at this point of time.” Moving on, Siddharth feels that it is the right time for him to make a beeline to films as “today audiences have become more mature and are ready to accept TV actors on the big screen as well.” He continues, “New age film directors are looking for actors who can perform and make films successful. Movies sell on concepts not on stars (Paan Singh Tomar and Kaahani etc). Recently, Ayushman Khurana and Yami Gautam successfully made the transition from tube to celluloid with Vicky Donor. Sushant Singh Rajput is also waiting for his big screen debut.” So will he quit films for TV? “No way… Bollywood is a risky business, your film might get released on a Friday and then disappear for good. As an intelligent and smart actor, I will continue to do TV which has a bigger reach than cinema and as when I get good film offers, like Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai, I will do them as well. What also makes this both big and small screen fusion possible is film schedules are staggered over six months, offering you space to do other work as well. I really respect Barun Sobti for his decision to take a break of 40 days from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon for his upcoming film after which he will be back in the show.” But will TV show producers allow such liberties to other actors as well, “A lot depends on your interpersonal equation with production house. I had shot schedules of Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai when Mukti Bandan was at its peak , yet Shobhna Maam (Shobana Desai) gave me time off to shoot in Poland where a part of the above film was shot,” concludes Siddharth.
