Spirituality means believing in my faith and living by its principles: Shaan Mishra

Shaan

MUMBAI: Maati Se Bandhi Dor actor Shaan Mishra says spirituality for him means believing in his faith and living by its principles. He said, “Spirituality, to me, means believing in my faith and living by its principles. It's about spreading love, being respectful, helping others, and following the right path. Avoiding violence and harm to others is essential. If our actions don't harm others and we cultivate humanity within, we connect directly with God. This connection ensures we won't harm others, and that's the essence of spirituality for me.”

“Coming from a Brahmin family, I was surrounded by spirituality and a strong emphasis on dharma and daan. My family always followed the teachings of the Bhagwat Gita, Ramayana, and Mahabharat. My grandmother (dadi) would share stories from these scriptures with me, sparking my interest in dharma. Her influence inspired me to explore spirituality further,” he added.

Shaan pointed out that his spiritual journey has significantly contributed to his personal growth. “As I've come closer to my spiritual self, I've experienced peace and contentment. I've learned to forgive, seek forgiveness, and understand myself better through meditation and chanting. These practices have helped me connect with a higher power, making me less materialistic and more satisfied with life. Inner peace and stability have become my companions on this journey,” he said.

“When faced with challenges, I realize I've made a mistake somewhere. Correcting it and trusting in the supreme power have become my approaches. Following Lord Shiva and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita has been transformative, helping me overcome obstacles and gain new insights. It's like awakening my third eye to a world of new possibilities,” he added.

Advice for someone beginning their spiritual journey? “My message is simple: embrace spirituality with an open heart and mind. Believe in the journey, and don't hesitate to seek guidance. By surrendering to a higher power and living according to spiritual principles, we can find true fulfillment and inner peace. Just believe and don't leave anything incomplete,” Shaan ended.
