The last episode of MTV Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan (BBC) showed Mukti (Charlie Chauhan) being harassed and teased for wearing western clothes by some rogues. And finally, her girlfriends took the onus of teaching the goons a lesson.
Now the makers of the show and the channel have taken the responsibility of spreading a social message. It will state that rapes and molestation is not a woman’s fault.
Calling the movement #ItsNotUsItsYou, the show will educate the youth that the clothes and personality of a woman does not give right to misbehave with her. The makers have also roped in popular face Sunny Leone to support the cause and help spread the message. She would be seen interacting with the team and bringing to notice the importance of respecting a woman, irrespective of what she wears.
Shares a source, “Sunny is a popular face and has being associated with MTV Splitsvilla too. Her past and how she has managed to not let it affect her present and future makes her a great choice to spread this important message.”
Talking on this movement, Charlie averred, “I think people should understand that a woman’s dress does not give anyone the right to judge them. A girl shouldn’t change her dressing sense, but people should change their thought process. As an actor we also get negative comments on our dresses which are highly disrespectful and discouraging. I think a girl has every right to dress in any way she feels like and not think of stupid people who only care about hemlines and necklines. Since our show is a youth centric we thought of highlighting this topic and spreading the message across. I hope our efforts help overcome this issue.”
