MUMBAI: Sacchin Shrof took over as Taarak Mehta in 2022 replacing the original Taarak Mehta, Shailesh Lodha, if you've been following Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. After 14 years on the show, Lodha left, causing controversy since he claimed producer Asit Modi had not paid him what was owed.
Although Sacchin's arrival has been warmly received, there's a small detail that may astound you: he earns one lakh less than Shailesh Lodha! The salary of the new Taarak is not quite as high as that of his predecessor. But let's not draw hasty judgments after all, money isn't everything. Those are big shoes to fill to be honest!
According to reports, Shailesh Lodha was paid a significant amount for his legendary part. He was making an attractive Rs 1.5 lakh each episode. However, Sacchin accepted a salary differential of about 80% less. Reports state that Shrof only gets paid about Rs 30,000 for each episode.
Shailesh Lodha is the wealthiest person in terms of net worth. He anticipates an annual salary between Rs 35 and Rs 40 crore a year from his acting, poetry, hosting, and book writing. Sachin is no new to the small screen; he has extensive experience from roles in shows such as Saath Phere, Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, Naagin, and Sindoor Tere Naam Ka.
In addition, he dabbled in the movie industry, making appearances in the OTT series Ashram and the films Dasvi and Double XL. Sacchin may be earning a little less money right now, but what matters most is the support he is getting from admirers all across the world.
