MUMBAI: Priya Ahuja Rajda is best known for her iconic portrayal of Rita Reporter in the popular and long-running show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC). Playing the dynamic and enthusiastic journalist, she became a familiar face in millions of households.

At the age of 40, she accomplished an extraordinary feat of strength in fitness, proving that age and motherhood are no barriers to personal ambition.

She secured her place in the record books for the 'Longest Duration to Perform Plank Pose with Additional Weight by a Female.'

She managed to perform the challenging weighted plank pose while supporting an impressive 75 kg of additional weight on her back, holding the pose for 42.48 seconds.

The actress revealed that this journey was deeply personal and symbolic.

She explained her motivation, saying, "I really wanted to do something big for myself before my 40th birthday because people often feel that after becoming a mother or after 40, you cannot do anything for yourself."

She emphasised that what began "on a fun and lighter note" quickly evolved into a serious fitness goal.

Initially, Priya and her trainer were exploring records in categories like pull-ups and push-ups, but they soon realised the weighted plank was her strongest area.

Demonstrating remarkable progress, she moved from holding 20 kg to 60 kg in just one week. Her ultimate goal was to hit the 75-kg target for the official record, a number she felt "most confident about."

She credits her unwavering consistency to the immense support she receives at home, particularly from her husband, director Malav Rajda.

"If my cup is empty, I cannot fill my child’s cup with happiness and love," she shared, highlighting the importance of self-care.

She mentioned that her day starts early with meditation and a workout, all made possible because her husband "took care of Ardaas in the morning so I could have my time."

For Priya, this achievement sends a powerful message to women who might feel limited by societal expectations or family roles. She concludes, "Age is just a number.

You need to love yourself and stay physically and mentally fit.

If you are not happy, your family cannot be completely happy."

She believes this is just the start of many more accomplishments to come.
