MUMBAI: Aditya Redij is a well-known actor of the television industry.
The actor is currently seen in Sony SAB's show Tenali Rama 2.
He is portraying the role of King Krishnadevraya and doing total justice to this role.
Tenali Rama is once again back with the new season after several years and fans are in love with this season too.
The makers have reprised mostly all the previous characters for their respective roles for this season too.
In a recent interaction with TellyChakkar, Aditya spoke about the show, his character Krishnadevaraya and much more.
This is your third historical show after Porus and Peshwa Bajirao. How is your experience playing Krishnadevaraya?
Playing Maharaj Krishnadevaraya has been a very enriching experience. Unlike Porus and Peshwa Bajirao, where my characters were more intense and war-driven, Krishnadevaraya is a just and wise ruler with a deep sense of humor. This role challenges me in different ways, especially balancing his authoritative side with his lighter, more human moments. Also, stepping into a character that has been portrayed before means bringing my own nuances to it while staying true to its essence. It’s been exciting and fulfilling.
A quality of Krishnadevaraya which you have imbibed in your real life?
His patience and ability to listen. Krishnadevaraya wasn’t just a great warrior but also an extremely wise king who valued intelligence and humor. In my personal life, I’ve started embracing the idea that not every situation requires an immediate reaction—sometimes, stepping back and observing gives the best solutions. Also, his deep love for his people and sense of responsibility is something I relate to as a family man.
Tenali Rama 2 is a show that can be watched by all age groups. How does your son react to your character if he sees you in this avatar on-screen sometimes?
My son, despite being just two and a half, is already very aware that his Dada is an actor and plays the role of Maharaj Krishnadevaraya. Though he’s too young to grasp the entire story, he still watches with curiosity and keeps asking me questions about what’s happening on-screen. It’s such a special feeling to see his excitement when he spots me on TV—it makes the whole experience even more meaningful for me.
Well said, Aditya!
