As 2012 comes to an end, we at Tellychakkar.com trip down memory lane and break down the best things we've encountered over the last 12 months. It has indeed been an eventful year for the entertainment industry, television to be precise, and here we bring you in a nutshell the biggest, grandest and loudest happenings of 2012. We have already carried an article wherein we wrote about the Bollywood hits and misses and now we pen down the top ten TV personalities of Indian television.
Let’s begin… (Names arranged in alphabetical order)
Aamir Khan- We agree that he is more of a Bollywood star than TV, but his entry to the small screen space created a whirlwind kind of sorts. Yes, there have been many Bollywood celebs who have made a foray into television, but none could create an impact like Aamir, all thanks to his super poignant show on Star Plus, Satyamev Jayate.
Anas Rashid- Why Anas? Well…this tall and handsome lad’s show Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus has been ruling the roost on the TRP chart for months together now. On top of that, his screen presence is amazing and his portrayal of Suraj in the show is indeed commendable and laudable. He is one actor who has impressed one and all in 2012.
Barun Sobti- He has emerged as some sort of a phenomenon this year. There is no point mentioning about his Aonian degree of popularity amongst the masses. His acting prowess and good looks make him a favourite amongst makers. His might can be gazed from the fact that with him quitting Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Star Plus), the makers and channel were left with no choice but to bring an abrupt closure to the show.
Gurmeet Choudhary- Gurmeet…waah waah waah…the man who can act, dance, charm women and what not. He is indeed stabbing hearts with his intense performance in Zee TV’s Punar Vivah. But this talented and hard working lad, went on to throw in some superb moves and win Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. 2012 has indeed been a fruitful year for this man. He definitely deserves a place in this list.
Karanvir Bohra- If it is bad ass… it is Karanvir Bohra. Yes, this immensely talented actor added a new layer to the entire concept of antagonist or villainy with his superbly devilish and malicious portrayal of Viraj in Life OK’s Saubhagyavati Bhava. He went on to win many awards for his act and in a world of television where female characters gain limelight for enacting negative avatars, Karanvir definitely came in as a fresh breathe of solace for viewers all across the globe.
Kunal Karan Kapoor- He is cute and sexy in a very unconventional sense. Yes, Mohan of Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Kunal’s fan following has grown in leaps and bounds. And we must admit that he is very impressive when it comes to acting abilities. We are sure fans are waiting with bated breath to watch him again in Na Bole season 2 which expectedly kick starts in January 2013.
Manish Paul- Feeling sad? Stricken by melancholy or feeling disgruntled? Here’s presenting you with a solution. Well…just switch on your TV and watch the funny histrionics of Manish Paul. Manish actually ruled the roost this year when it comes to hosting shows. His comic timing and punch lines were amazing to the core…simply chumma chumma moments…He also anchored Indiantelevision.com’s the 11th Indian Telly Awards wherein he left viewers in absolute splits. He is the funniest wackiest funny man of Indian television.
Mohit Raina- This is one man who has given a new dimension and meaning to the mytho genre on Indian television. Girls swoon over his good looks and chiseled body. Mohit “Shiv” Raina of Life OK’s Mahadev has emerged as the revelation of 2012. Let’s all hail and bow down to His Sexiness…Mohit Raina.
Ram Kapoor- He is cuddly for sure…but there is not an iota of doubt that he is one of the finest actors that the country has ever seen. Ram Kapoor, playing Ram in Sony Entertainment Television’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, has managed to win the hearts of the masses and critics alike. He is one personality on television, that can never go unnoticed (no pun intended).
Vivian Dsena- He is tall, handsome and a TV heartthrob. As RK in Colors’ Madhubala, Vivian with his intense looks and poignant dialogues, has climbed further in the ladder of popularity. And when it comes to looks, he is indeed a Greek God.
Here we would also like to bring in names of two actors who also got noticed and wowed everyone. First would be Karan Kundra,, whose anchoring skills did get noticed in Channel V’s Gumrah. Next would be young and dynamic Shaleen Malhotra, who has indeed been a find of the year. He is stunning in Star Plus’ Arjun.
