Bengali actress Tridha Choudhury currently playing the role of Swadheenta Ramakrishnan in STAR Plus’ Dahleez, is charming all with her Southern belle act in the show. Tridha Choudhury, who started her career with the Bengali film industry and later done few Telugu movies too, confesses that it was none too easy getting the Tamil accent right. In order to fit into the character and ace the role, Tridha had to take separate Tamil speaking classes.
Being born and brought up in Bengal, Tridha is well versed with Bengali. Tridha already had a tough time learning to speak in Hindi fluently to add to it she was also expected to learn Tamil. The hard working girl that she is, she managed to squeeze in time for separate Tamil speaking sessions.
“When I decided to start a career in the Hindi entertainment industry, I knew I had to put in efforts as I’m not very fluent with the language of Hindi as I pronounce certain words differently. When I bagged the role of Swadheenta Ramakrishnan, I was expected to learn Tamil. I think getting the accent was the toughest thing. In fact, there was a day when we went to set and almost an entire shift went in trying to figure out the accent and getting that right. But once we got that right, it was fun. This is just the beginning of my career and such obstacles are going to keep coming my way and I’m ready for it. I’m seeing the brighter side of this as after I overcome this, I will master three languages which is a big thing for me,” says Tridha Choudhury.
Great luck Tridha!
