Bengali television actress Disha Ganguly of Tumi Ashbey Bole and Bou Katha Kao fame committed suicide in her apartment few days back. Though no suicide note was found, police recovered her phone and personal diary, which brought many new facts into the limelight.
According to media reports Ganguly was involved into an intimate relationship with another actress in the industry, who tried to commit suicide post Disha’s demise.
Though Ganguly’s parents have denied the news and claimed that their daughter was engaged into another actor named Vivaan Ghosh. But reports suggest that Disha was staying with her alleged girlfriend and when her parents got to know about their relationship this created lots of issues leading to the other girl moving out of her flat.
Police reports suggest that just a day before the incident Ganguly and her boyfriend went to Eden Gardens for an IPL match and after returning to her flat she hanged herself. Complicating the situation further the report also claimed that she transferred a large amount of money to her girlfriend’s account just before her death.
The police report also confirmed that unable to cope of with societal pressure of being into a turbulent bi-sexual relationship with both Ghosh and another actress she took up such a drastic step.
Disha’s girlfriend, who tried to commit suicide after her death, was saved by locals and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
