TV boy, Vikrant Rai is excited about his debut film, Uvaa

Actor Vikrant Rai created ‘sheer magic’ on television with his boy-next door roles in shows like Kkavyanjali, Maayka and Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan. In no time, he quickly gained the status of being a favourite amongst girls and was offered roles by every big production house… However, the young lad who was determined to prove his worth as an actor on the big screen stopped accepting TV offers and aimed big. But as we know, every journey starts with its own league of problems, and the same happened with Vikrant too. From being the most loved boy on TV, he had to go through a series of disappointments at the bigger level, before finding success. Now, Vikrant is super excited about his dream finally coming true, with his comedy and social drama film, Uvaa all set for release on 26 June. Vikrant will play one of the main leads in the movie, and will essay the role of a student by name Ram Pratap. Uvaa, as we know, is produced by Dhanraj Films, and is the story of five students who are in class 11. Talking about his struggle, Vikrant told us, “It was so very easy for me in television; I was the ‘man of the moment’, as I was playing pivotal roles in Kkavyanjali, followed by Maayka and Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan. As many of us dream, I too wanted to draw success on the big screen. However, the journey in the beginning was not smooth at all. But I was so determined that I never had a single negative thought of dropping my dream, and continuing with TV. Yes, it took me years to achieve my very first step. But I am glad that my long wait has paid off. I have my movie Uvaa all set for release, where I play the lead.” When asked about his expectations from the movie, he stated, “Well, I have given it my best. Now only time will tell. I am too excited, and guess my journey can be inspirational to many budding actors.” While Vikrant waited for his golden opportunity in films, TV kept knocking at his doors every now and then. “Yes, I refused some really good shows like Saas Bina Sasural, Balika Vadhu etc. It is not that I have anything against TV. But I was so strong in my mind after taking the biggest decision of my life to opt out of TV, that I had to say no to any lead role on TV that came my way. Today, I can say that my sacrifice, passion and belief in myself has come good in the form of Uvaa.” Vikrant, wish you all the very best for your debut big screen work…
