MUMBAI: Mumbai, December 27th, 2024: In the city where dreams take flight, Mumbai inspires countless souls to rewrite their kismat ki recipe. In this bustling metropolis, where ambition simmers and passions boil over, two women’s hunger for success ignites a fiery collision that threatens to expose a bitter truth. COLORS presents Mannat: Har Khushi Paane Ki, a gripping restaurant-based family drama about ambition, identity, and aspirations. At its core is Mannat, a fiery young chef determined to slice through stereotypes and prove her culinary prowess. But her journey is anything but easy, thanks to her icy boss, Aishwarya, who dismisses her as unfit for anything beyond a roadside thela. Just as Mannat begins to find her footing with the support of her other boss Vikrant, who sees her gourmet potential, a shocking fact that could rouse the hornet’s nest surfaces — Aishwarya is not just her difficult boss but her biological mother who abandoned her at birth. Starring Ayesha Singh as Mannat, Mona Vasu as Aishwarya, and
Adnan Khan as Vikrant. Produced by Mukta Dhond and Milind Dhond of Malhar Content creators, ‘Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki’ premieres on January 6 and thereafter will air every Monday-Friday at 10:00 PM only on COLORS.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai, the story begins 22 years ago when Mannat was abandoned by her biological mother, Aishwarya, at Marine Drive. Now in her 20s, after graduating from culinary college, Mannat embarks on her professional journey as a chef. She lands her first job at a high-end restaurant owned by Aishwarya and her business partner, Vikrant. Unbeknownst to them, Mannat and Aishwarya share a deep, hidden connection — Aishwarya is the one who abandoned Mannat at birth. When Aishwarya discovers Mannat’s disadvantaged background and the growing bond between Mannat and Vikrant, she fires Mannat. However, Vikrant sees Mannat's potential and culinary talent, re-hiring her despite Aishwarya's opposition. This sparks a fierce rivalry, as Aishwarya fears Mannat will not only steal the spotlight but also capture Vikrant’s attention, further complicating their already strained relationship. As destiny whips up a course of colliding ambitions and family secrets, will Mannat's recipe for success triumph over her mother's bitter opposition?
Regarding essaying the titular role, Ayesha Singh says, “Mannat’s journey is a powerful testament to ambition and resilience, fueled by her dream of becoming a top chef. Her world is grounded in gratitude and determination, with everyone around her recognizing her as a rising star in the culinary world. What I admire most about her is the way she exudes life—not because her path is easy, but because she is driven by the deep purpose of infusing warmth and comfort into every dish she creates. Mannat’s character is a complete contrast to who I am in real life, making the experience of portraying her both a challenging and exciting one for me.”
Expressing her sentiments about essaying Aishwarya, Mona Vasu says, “Aishwarya is a woman who built her world out of broken dreams and relentless ambition. Born with nothing, she learned that wishes are for the privileged, and survival demands a brutal hustle. Her success wasn’t handed to her — she clawed it from reality, where consequences are steep and collateral damage is inevitable. She harbors deeply buried secrets and will go to any lengths to keep them hidden. But fate has other plans, forcing her to confront them head-on after 20 years. Aishwarya’s drive for ambition is what sets her apart, and as an actor, I am thrilled to bring the complexities of her character to life on screen."
Sharing his thoughts about portraying Vikrant, Adnan Khan says, “Growing up in London, Vikrant’s life was shaped by the love of his family. Despite all the comforts, there was always an unshakable yearning for India that he couldn’t understand. When the opportunity to bring his business model to Mumbai arises, Vikrant seizes it without a second thought. Having always lived to fulfill his family’s expectations, especially his mother’s, he’s lived a life of restraint, never questioning his role. But when he meets Mannat, he begins to see the world through a new lens—unlearning the flaws in his perception of life and learning to trust his heart. The character’s journey is about finding where he truly belongs, and I can’t wait for the viewers to experience it.”
Witness a cutthroat battle of ambitions in ‘Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki’; premiering on January 6 and thereafter will air every Monday-Friday at 10:00 pm only on COLORS.
