MUMBAI : Seema Kapur’s rise to fame with serials like Kismat (she debuted in Ramesh Sippy's show) Kurukshetra, Hum Saath Aath Hai and Hasratein was quite phenomenal. But her fading into oblivion was also equally surprising.
After a gap of almost a year, the talented actress came back to television in Rajan Shahi's Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai. She has been playing the important role of Vasundhara Rajvansh and made a huge success of it.

She has been seen in a couple of shows in the recent past, in the likes of Chandni, Razia Sultan and Udaariyaan. In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Seema shared her journey in the industry and about making a comeback.
Seema shared, “It has been 35 years in the industry and I have done all kinds of roles and work in the industry. I have worked round the clock and there comes a time when you want a break. I have done a body of work and leading roles. Now, people have changed and a new lot has come in. I have done work in two to three shifts. I wanted to take a break for a long time but I have got an opportunity now that my father is unwell and we are switching between hospitals. I needed a break. I am planning to come back, as work is my worship, work is my life and I will continue working as long as I am alive.
When it comes to work and there are no unconventional roles, it makes me think whether the roles are not churned out well, is there a budget issue or something else? Another thing is that I too am very choosy. There are many more times that I say no than I say yes. There was a time when I got 150 to 200 offers.”
Talking about making a comeback, Seema expressed, “I was recently approached for a film which stars Supriya Pathak. Her role was throughout and I felt that it is good that I was not on board because if I was there, I would have done it in my style and would be a totally different flavour to the overall film. That film I thought I could do.”
Well said Seema!
