MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television’s The Kapil Sharma Show will be celebrating Christmas in a special way. The show extends a warm welcome to the cast of one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Coolie No. 1. Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Shikha Talsania, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Javed Jaffrey, Sahil Vaid and producer Jackky Bhagnani will be seen gracing the stage and taking the entertainment quotient a few notches higher this weekend. 

Coolie No. 1 is Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan’s first movie together that has created immense anticipation amidst millions of fans. During a candid conversation with Varun Dhawan, Kapil Sharma asked the actor his first encounter with Sara Ali Khan. The actor revealed an incident which made everyone burst into laughter. Varun said, “Ek Bahot he funny Incident tha jab meri pehli film ‘Student of the Year’ release hui thi, aur usdohran main gym karne hotel main jaata tha. Tab maine ek bachi ko dekhaa jo chasma pahane idhar sey udhar phone lekar bhaag rahee thi. Thode samay baad, main lift sey jaaraha thaa aur woh bachi lift sey nikal rahi thi, Jab maine lift key andhar sey dekha tab, woh hee bachi ghum kar vaapas mere hee lift main aa gayi  aur kisiko phone kiyaa. Later, I realized that vo ladki mujhe ghoor rahee thi aur mujhe dekhkar hass rahee thi. Aur main yeh soch raha thaa ki yeh kissey baat karahi hai phone par. Kyuki network toh hotaa nahi hai lift main. Phir main nikala lift sey aur woh hee ladki mere peeche – peeche aayi aur kuch boli nahi”. After sharing this incident, Varun revealed that the kid was none other than Sara Ali Khan. Everyone present on the set could not stop laughing.

Out of curiosity Kapil asked Sara who was she calling that day, and embarrassed Sara replied, “Kisiko bhi nahi!  Phone kar rahi thi, but kuch activity chaiye hotaa hai naa… kisiko ghoor rahein ho, stalk kar rahe ho… Lift main toh idhar udhar, kuch toh karnaa padhtaa hai”. Both actors later revealed that when this incident happened, Varun was 23 years old and Sara was 15. 

Further in the show, Varun shared anecdotes from his childhood and his experience of watching Govinda and father David Dhawan work together. Varun shared, “Main sach bol raha hu, jab Chi Chi Bhaiya (Govinda) aur dad saat mai kaam kartein the, tab mujhe difference nahi pata chalta tha kaam aur masti ke beech mein. Kyuki woh log itney rangeen meejas ke insaan hai aur usmein Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, inka jo behavior hota tha, mujhe aisaa lagta tha ki koi masti chal rahi hai. I remember Chi Chi Bhaiya’s walk, vo unke boy (Jagdish) ko bulatein the aur steel ke glass main vo paani peetein the aur zameen par baithkar scene padhtein the. Scene padhne ke baad boltein the, Haa David main karlunga. Aur aisa-aisa (hand gestures) kartein, toh mujhe samaj nahi aata tha ki kuch communication bhi nahi ho raha hai, aur aisa lagta tha ki telepathy ho raha hai. Fir Govinda boltein the, Chalo ‘take ready karo’ (start the shoot). Vo jo Kalakar ka command tha naa, vo ek aura tha (Govinda had an aura to him)”.

On the show, Varun Dhawan thanked Kapil Sharma and the entire team on returning on the Television post lockdown and gifted the cast various Santa goodies.
