#Viewers Speak: Reality shows like Indian Idol, Dance Deewane and others should get more real

A particular section of the audience feels that the shows can be more real as there are some unnecessary elements included

MUMBAI: Reality shows are always a visual delight.

While daily soaps entertain us throughout the week, it is the reality shows which book the weekend slots and keep us entertained with a different flavour of television. While there are many singing and dancing reality shows on television, there are some shows that have made a special place in the audience's hearts. Shows like Indian Idol, Dance Deewane and others are projects in which people cannot have enough of the young talents gracing the show and making it to the top.

However, a particular section of the audience feels that the shows can be more real as there are some unnecessary elements included.

Pradeep Sarkar thinks, “While light-hearted humour is good, incorporating emotional elements of the hardships people have been through is a little unnecessary.”

Daksha Patel shared, “The show is entertaining and the emotional moments and other elements in the show are fillers which help build an emotional connect with the audience.”

Hemani Badani expressed, “It is not only the middle and the lower middle class which can take this platform. It is always shown how people work hard and come from poor backgrounds to showcase their talent. But I do not understand why people from fairly rich and decent backgrounds can’t participate in the show. “

Radhika Shah opined, “The reason why the show is loved is because it has all the elements which established an emotional connection within the show. My family and I thoroughly enjoy watching the reality shows.”

Rakhi Solanki said, “I feel the shows are real however, showing backgrounds and how parents turn emotional and the way the humour is presented looks scripted. I would prefer watching it the way it is!”
