Vishwanath and Raktima have been voted out by viewers from all over India in tonight’s episode of Zee’s latest talent hunt, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu. Getting the least amount of votes from among the eight jodis, Vishwanath paid the price for his sad attempt at poetry in last week’s episode. Vishwanath hails from Ahmedabad and surprisingly, it was Gujarat that voted the least for the pair.
Prior to the show, Vishwanath, speaking to Telly Chakkar.com, said that he was hoping that audiences would see his talent and realise that he did not mean to be rude to Raktima. But, he understood that if things go against him, Rakhtima would suffer the consequences, too. This is where one notices that the show’s format is different. All this time it was merely a solo performance that counted, but here the other participant also gets affected.
The episode shows Twinkle and Vishwas, so far the leading pair, getting some stiff competition from the other singers as positions change with viewers voting in for others in the top position. The first four positions go to Rajeev/ Sanchali, Twinkle/ Vishwas, Banjyotsna/ Sharib and Prajakta/Hrishikesh.
Also, the Thursday episode had a sudden twist with Hariharan requesting Shaan for an additional veto vote saying one vote is not enough. He asked viewers to SMS and give their feedback on this. When asked about giving the judges a second veto vote, producer director Gajendrra Siingh said he would stick to the original format and no change would be made. Let’s wait and watch how the viewers respond to this.
The episode also has the talented Rajeev crack under pressure. Rajeev get emotional with his family from Himachal Pradesh present in the audience. He fumbled through the entire song. Despite Sanchali’s best efforts to regain the rhythm, Rajeev was unable to focus on his singing. The judges were very unhappy with his performance, especially after the pair had got 18.68 per cent of the votes from viewers for last week’s performance.
Hariharan said, “I have yet to be blown away by a performance. But, today’s performances show that it is going to be a closely fought competition.”
