World Environment Day special - Pooja Gor: I try my best to be a responsible resident of this planet
MUMBAI: Every small step towards a clean and healthy environment counts, and actress Pooja Gor ensures to do her bit in whatever way she can. She said that changes like using bamboo brushes and using glass or copper bottles instead of plastic ones have become a part of her lifestyle now.
Speaking on the occasion of World Environment Day, which is observed on June 5, she said, "I am environmentally conscious. I try my best to be a responsible resident of this planet. Replacing plastic bags, containers, bottles with cloth bags, glass/copper bottles and containers, using bamboo brushes, planting trees and insisting that the residential complex that I live in has the system of segregation of dry and wet garbage are some of the things I carried out and made it into a lifestyle while making more smaller changes as we go ahead and find alternatives."
"I’d like to give my contribution in the conservation of this planet, for the next generation to walk the earth," she added.
The actress in 2019 had participated in a beach clean up project, an initiative by Mahim Beach Clean up. Sharing that she was happy to be a part of it, she took to her Instagram and wrote, "Us #mumbaikars are very lucky to be surrounded by beaches. But these beaches are suffering in silence. And so is the marine life. ALL of us at some point have been a contibutor to the plastic waste in these water bodies. The reality is daunting and it hits you hard when you see it for yourself. And since it is our doing, it is OUR responsibility to CLEAN UP. The sooner we realise, the better it is for us as this, directly and indirectly, affects us. Kudos to everyone who is committed to doing their bit in cleaning up the beaches..."
On the work front, she is currently seen in the titular role of Pratigya in Rajan Shahi's "Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2", which is being led by Pearl Grey as the showrunner, creative producer and writer.
