MUMBAI: Actor Karan Mehra, best known for his long-standing portrayal of Naitik Singhania in the iconic television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, got into an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar about the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi in his life and the excitement around the festivities. The actor, who has also been part of shows like Ek Bhram...Sarvagun Sampanna, Shubharambh and Mehndi Wala Ghar, shared his fond memories, highlights of this year’s celebration, and his heartfelt wish to Lord Ganesha.
On the importance of the festival:
“Ganpati festival holds a very special place in my heart. It’s not just about the rituals but about the energy, positivity, and togetherness it brings. For me, it’s always been a time to pause, be grateful, and welcome new beginnings with Bappa’s blessings,” he expressed.

Delhi vs Mumbai celebrations:
Recalling his early days, Karan shared, “In Delhi, the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations were much smaller and more personal. It was only after shifting to Mumbai that I truly felt its grandeur — the community vibes, dhol-tasha, visarjan processions, and the way the whole city comes alive. That’s when my connection with the festival deepened.”
Highlights of 2025 celebrations:
“This year was extra special because of the warmth of celebrating with friends and family. Visiting so many houses, enjoying the beautiful decorations, aartis, modaks, and the overall joy of togetherness made it memorable. The most special moment was during the aarti — it felt like Bappa was right there, blessing us,” he revealed.
His wish from Bappa:
Karan concluded with his heartfelt prayer: “My wish was simple — good health for my loved ones, strength to face challenges, and the wisdom to keep moving forward with positivity.”
