Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta completes 1200 episodes today; Sumukhi Pendse set to enter the show

Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta, produced by Balaji Telefilms has had a remarkable journey, wherein it has seen quite a few ups and downs. But the story telling has always been on top, with the viewers being glued to the show for years now. Today (18 December), the long-running show completes airing 1200 episodes. And this indeed calls for a huge celebration. Says a source from the set of the show, “Yes, this is a remarkable achievement. We have been working very hard on the show from day one. The feeling is good enough, and we are focussed towards continuing with the same zeal.” Also, there will soon be a new entry in the soap. Actress Sumukhi Pendse, who was last seen in Life OK’s Saubhagyavati Bhava, will enter Pavitra Rishta as the bua of Naren Karmarkar (Karan Mehra). As per the source, Sumukhi will be a disciplinarian to the core. She will be very strict and will have her do’s and don’ts listed in her dictionary, and will want all in the family to abide by her rules. As for the family of Naren, everyone is in awe with the Bua as they seek her advice on everything. Naren will be close to the bua and it will be interesting to see how Ankita (Ankita Lokhande) will cope up to the pressures put in by her. When contacted, Sumukhi confirmed the news stating, “Yes, I am in fact shooting my entry sequence in Pavitra Rishta now. It is a nice feeling to enter such a long-running show. I play Naren’s bua; she is a very strict lady. She is the karta-dharta to the entire family, and they respect her a lot.” On her look, the lady states, “Well, the bua belongs to a very affluent family. So I will be seen in grand sarees, with lot of jewellery and make-up. However, the lady will also have a traditional look as she believes quite a lot in age old customs and traditions.” Here’s congratulating the entire team of Pavitra Rishta on the completion of 1200 episodes.
