EXCLUSIVE! I was very excited that I was working with Naseeruddin Shah: Cyrus Sahukar

MUMBAI : Actor Cyrus Sahukar in this exclusive interview with Tellychakkar.com talks about his upcoming show Kaun Banegi Shikharwati. He speaks about his character and how he was starstruck by Naseeruddin Shah during the shooting of the show. He also speaks about if given a chance what he will choose between hosting and acting. Tell us about the show and your character in Kaun Banegi Shikharwati

I was approached directly by Gurav Chawla. After reading the script, the thing that most interested me was the stories these days are high on relatability or crime or murder. This film is about the world which exists in today’s scenario but is like a hidden universe. I play the character of Harsh Goyal. who lives in Delhi and who is married to Lara Dutta’s character in the film. Harsh has never met Lara’s parents because they had big fallouts in the past. On the other hand he is meeting his wife’s family for the first time and desperately trying to fit into the world where everybody is intensely quirky and strange.    

Have you been starstruck while filming for the show?

First of all, I was very excited that I was working with Naseeruddin Shah. On the second day of the shoot where I was shooting with him. And suddenly I got struck looking at him, where all my childhood memories about him started popping in my mind from Masoom to Chamatkar. And I thought, oh my god I am sitting next to Naseeruddin shah. I was heavily and badly starstruck by him.

If given a chance, what will you choose between hosting and acting?

I have done a lot of hosting in the past. I love interacting with people. But I am far most attracted to acting because it is a very vast world of learning and doing it from my will. I am equally passionate about both but now I am so much interested in getting better in acting because it is such a difficult and never ending job.    

The show will be releasing on 7th January 2022 on Zee5. Soha Ali Khan, Lara Dutta, Anya Singh, Kritika Kamra and Naseeruddin Shah will been seen along with Cyrus on the show.
