Netflix just announced its upcoming series Maamla Legal Hai. The series stars actors like Ravi Kishan, Naila Grrewal, Nidhi Bisht, Anantvijay, Yashpal Sharma, Amit Vikram Pandey, Brijendra Kala, and Vikram Pratap. The trailer of the series has been released and it shows fresh new comedy that will really leave you laughing on the floor.
Now talking about the movie, Tellychakkar got in touch with Anjum Batra who plays a pivotal part in the movie. In conversation with Anjum Batra, he revealed some interesting insights when asked about the series, his character and much more.
About the show
On this, Anjum Batra said that there are 7-8 episodes and while every episode shows a different story in itself, in totality the all the episodes combine to make one big story. Every episode will have a different conclusion.
About his character
On this, Anjum Batra said that he is playing the character of a lawyer named Lakhmeer Singh Balli, nickname ‘Mintu’, who is best friend of Tyagi (played by Ravi Kishan) and is always found in Tyagi’s office, also very loyal to Tyagi. Anjum Batra also called his character a ‘Sheikh Chilli’ who is always ready to just get into his own world instead of living in reality.
What made you say ‘Yes’ for the character?
On this, Anjum Batra said that he was working on another project and so he had no dates available and so when he was approached by the casting director of Maamla Legal Hai, who suggested he takes a llook at the script for once. Anjum Batra refused first by saying that he doesn’t have dates available but later coincidentally there was a one-month delay as Ravi Kishan had some other work to do, and so Anjum Batra got the chance to read the script and accepted to work. Anjum Batra added that he loved the script, he has seen some earlier works of the makers and thought it was a good chance to work. He also thought that the chance to work with Ravi Kishan so closely is a great factor and as he has played the role a Sardar Ji many times, it wouldn’t be difficult this time.
