Actress Mrinal Kulkarni is embodying this very sentiment in her powerful role in ZEE5's latest drama, Paithani, a show that seamlessly intertwines the timeless traditions of weaving with the evolving story of female empowerment. The series follows Godavari, a master weaver at the end of her career, and her daughter Kaveri, who struggles to honor her mother’s legacy by completing a final handcrafted saree. Through Godavari, Mrinal not only captures the artistry of Paithani weaving but also brings to life the powerful bonds between women how they lift, empower, and inspire one another across generations.
In a recent conversation, Mrinal shared her belief that women empower one another, saying, "I believe that women today give strength to each other. Aisa log bolte the ki aurat hi hoti hai jo aurat ko takleef deti hain. However, I feel that a mother gives strength to her daughter, and then the daughter passes that strength on to her own daughter. I truly believe that we are evolving, and it's in a positive way."
