MUMBAI : Wamiqa Gabbi who is a well known face in the Punjabi film industry is slowly spreading her magic in the Hindi film industry too! The gorgeous actress who won hearts with her performance in the Sakshi Tanwar show Mai and Jubilee, is currently basking in the glory of her new Sony LIV show Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley by Vishal Bradwaj.

Wamiqa won hearts for her role as Nilofer in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Jubilee. But before she got the part, she was struggling to find a foothold in the industry. When she was called for the show by director Vikramaditya Motwane she was lacking confidence and her nervousness made her get rejected by him.
Interestingly, her reels in Rakhi Sawant’s voice did the trick. She said, “I gave an audition and it went very well. But I was always very awkward about getting clicked before the pandemic. I was doing the look test for a big show and Vikram sir was clicking the pictures. Looking at him I knew that he had figured out that I am awkward. My scenes were good in the audition, but I got rejected. During the pandemic, I used to sulk, ‘Why didn’t it happen?”
Wamiqa added, “So, Vikram sir just saw another side of me because the first time we met, I was a very good girl and he thought, ‘She is quite naïve, how will she play Niloufer?’ But then he got on Instagram and saw my reels in Rakhi Sawant’s voice. Then he thought, ‘Ye toh badi chichori hai’. Then he said, ‘You can play Niloufer’”
