MUMBAI: Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla tied the knot on June 21 in panoramic Shimla. Yesterday, Tinseltown was buzzing with celebrities galore at Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla’s cocktail cum reception night. Bigwigs from the acting fraternity attended the function to shower the newly married couple with best wishes.
While most looked exceptionally good and walked the red carpet with élan, there were a few who disappointed us with their attire for the occasion.
Stunners
To start off with, Rubina looked no less than a princess. She wore a beige crystal-studded gown with a tiara and had braided her hair. The outfit combined the rich aesthetics of Indian culture with a western approach to design. With artful illusions of nude balanced with embroidered custom patterns, the gown is one of the most exquisite pieces we have come across. Abhinav also looked dashing in a sophisticated black-and-white suit.
Shilpa Agnihotri looked elegant in a red nine-yard saree embroidered with uncut black beads and a halter-neckline blouse. She kept her make-up game subtle yet vibrant with a pop of red lipstick, black kohled eyes, perfectly shaped sindoor, and glittery earrings.
Ayub Khan and Sumeet Vyas looked stylish in blazers. Although both of them chose the classic black-and white look, Sumeet added a dash of color with his electric blue waistcoat and wore a black bowtie.
Watching Drashti Dhami on-screen has always been a visual treat. In real life too, the exquisite beauty made heads turn with a maroon self-embroidered anarkali gown with a bit of bling on the sleeves and a net dupatta. She wore nude makeup with a pop of subtle pink on her lips. Drashti accessorized her dress with a silver kada embellished with green stones and matching earrings. We love the way Drashti’s husband Neeraj Khemka paired his blue-and-white outfit with a waistcoat that matched Drashti’s dress.
We have always been in awe of Nia Sharma for her fashion sense. Nia chose to keep her look ethnic with a tinge of modern in an all-white lehenga choli. Her blouse was netted, emphasizing her flawless neck. The highlight of the outfit was the gold floral border on the blouse. Her lehenga too had a black print and gold border, and she completed this stunning look with a shimmery net dupatta.
Sangeeta Kapur looked pleasing to the eye in a lemon yellow saree with an electric blue border printed with red and golden leaves. Her style game was on point as her radiant green blouse contrasted with the navy and coral blue sleeves. Sangeeta accessorized her saree with a watch and a set of gold kadas clubbed with bangles. Instead of using exacting matching jewellery, Sangeeta opted for a green beaded neckpiece and another golden one. Her dark pink lipstick made her stand out from the crowd, and the nose ring added to the ethnic feel.
Keerti Kelkar looked dazzling in a slit dress in a dark shade of gold paired with a fine black belt.
Shakti Arora flaunted a black-and-red ‘love’ look, while Neha Saxena sizzled in a blue-and-gold lehenga choli. She paired her outfit with gold earrings, a net dupatta, and bangles, which looked simple and chic.
