MUMBAI : These days the Indian smartphone market is crowded with many appealing phones that are grabbing people’s attention all over. There are even many budget friendly phones that are confusing for buyers as to which is the best. Rising prices and component supply issues that are going on might not provide the same value as a few years ago.
Other than that, users won’t find much increase in power, camera quality, and construction quality in this range compared to a few years ago. But on the plus side, we can see improvements in screen quality, battery life, charging speed, software, faster network support, higher refresh rates, stereo speakers, and more. So let us take a look at some of the best smartphones one can buy under Rs. 15,000 in India. The list is in no particular order and is reviewed and scored by a trusted technology portal. So, let’s check them out.
Moto G52

The Moto G52 does not come with 5G, which is a bit daunting, especially as the launch of 5G networks seems eminent. The G52 is only recommended for those who do not plan to use 5G networks but are more interested in value. Having said that, the Motorola Moto G52 is a phone focused on entertainment and comes with a 90Hz refresh rate, pOLED display, and stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos. The Qualcomm's Snapdragon 680 SoC chipset is not for heavy-duty users, but it definitely gets daily tasks done, and some light gaming as well. This is partially thanks to Motorola's near-stock Android software. The phone also houses a large 5000mAh battery and comes with a 33W charger in the box.
Infinix Hot 11S

The Infinix Hot 11S is a phone meant for gamers with a tight budget. It comes with a high refresh-rate display that gets the job done while playing games, and a decent budget SoC that manages some mid-level gaming. The plastic body has a glossy coating that feels cheap to the touch, and attracts a lot of smudges. Whereas, the display is the opposite; it is quite good at repelling fingerprints. The large display of this phone makes it a little difficult to hold for most users, and one-handed use is almost impossible. The stereo speakers work well while gaming has a decent loudness. The battery life is excellent, and the phone charges pretty quickly too. This smartphone could very well be the right choice for casual users who look for a good gaming experience on a tight budget.
Redmi 10 Prime

The Redmi 10 Prime has the iconic Redmi look and flaunts a huge 6.5-inch full-HD+ display, with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which doubles as the power button. Its frame is made out of plastic, and it has a quad-camera system at the back. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, and a whopping 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, this phone is not joking around.
Despite having a 50-megapixel camera, its daylight performance was average, while its low-light image quality was disappointing to say the least, despite having a 50-megapixel primary camera. The low-light camera performance was definitely one of the drawbacks of this phone. This phone definitely delivers a much better performance than its predecessor.
Realme Narzo 30 5G
[[{"fid":"17121949","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"type":"media","field_deltas":{"4":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"4"}}]]
The Realme Narzo 30 5G is a slim 5G smartphone with overall good specs. It has a 90Hz refresh rate display, great battery life, and mid-level gaming performance. The cameras seem to bring the experience down, for both stills and videos. The worst part about the camera is that this phone does not have an ultra-wide camera. In terms of software, the phone comes with Android 11 coupled with the Realme UI. It also comes with many preinstalled apps that will spam you with unnecessary notifications. The phone charges slowly compared to the others on the list. Overall, if you want 5G and you have a tight budget, the Narzo 30 5G is something to think about.
Samsung Galaxy F22
[[{"fid":"17121959","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"type":"media","field_deltas":{"5":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"5"}}]]
Samsung's Galaxy F22 is a basic budget smartphone that has a big battery life. Other than its bright 6.4-inch 90Hz HD+ Super AMOLED display, everything else seems to have taken a hit. The big battery can last two days with ease, but it still takes a long time to charge. The camera has an average performance for this segment, but the daylight video quality was good enough, even though it has a limitation of 1080p. The Galaxy F22's design is best described as practical, with a Gorilla Glass 5 display and a plastic unibody. If a bright display and great battery life are priorities, the Galaxy F22 fits the MO.
Redmi Note 10S
[[{"fid":"17121969","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"type":"media","field_deltas":{"6":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"6"}}]]
The Redmi Note 10S is a slightly upgraded version of the Redmi Note 10 and both devices look similar. It has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Redmi Note 10S also comes with stereo speakers and an IR blaster, which are not too common for budget smartphones. The Note 10S comes with a MediaTek Helio G95 SoC along with 6GB of RAM. It has an option between 64GB and 128GB of storage. Software wise, it comes with MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11. Thankfully, it does not come with too many preinstalled apps that push spammy notifications. The Note 10S has a big 5,000mAh battery and also comes with a 33W charger in the box.
The phone is equipped with a quad-camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor. All-in-all, the Redmi Note 10S is worth the price and is better than the generic Redmi Note 10, performance-wise.
